BY Olasunkanmi Akoni
LAGOS—Senator Gbenga Ashafa, representing, Lagos East Senatorial District has donated four newly-converted motorized boreholes to communities in Eredo Local Council Development Area of Epe town in Lagos State.

The project, which aimed to enhance unhindered availability of potable water to members of his constituency, comprises two boreholes at Odo- Egiri; one at Poka  and another at Odomola.
The project became expedient, following several complaints by people in the area that the hand pump boreholes initially constructed under the Millennium Development Goals, MGDs, scheme ceased to function almost immediately after completion in 2013.
Speaking at the official commissioning of the project, Ashafa, stated:   “We all know the importance of water to life.”
