NEMA, Stakeholders Review Abuja, Nyanya Bomb Blasts

By Onyebuchi  Ezigbo
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and all other stakeholders that responded to the recent bomb blasts in Abuja city- centre and Nyanya have commenced a review of rescue operations so as to prepare against any similar emergency incident.
Speaking while opening the emergency responders  meeting  in Abuja  Monday, NEMA Director General, Alhaji Muhammad Sani-Sidi said part of the strategy  is to  draw lessons from rescue operations during past bomb blast incidents in the country and be able to compare notes with other countries.
"From experiences, most of the victims of bomb blast come from secondary attacks, people rushing to a blast scene only to be killed by subsequent bomb explosions. This is why we are carrying out enlightenment exercises to caution Nigerians and members of the public to watch against such occurrence, " he said.
