Malaysian Passenger Plane Crashes With 295 On Board


A Malaysian passenger airliner with 295 people on board crashed in Ukraine near the Russian border, the Interfax news agency reported Thursday.
Malaysia Airlines said via its Twitter feed on Thursday it had lost contact with flight MH17 from
Amsterdam. It said the plane's last known position was over Ukrainian airspace.
Mohd Najib Tun Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia, said on Twitter that he is "shocked by reports" and an immediate investigation was being launched.
The Boeing 777 was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, Interfax said. It was carrying 295 people: 280 passengers and 15 crew members, repots Reuters.
