Lawmaker kidnapped in Port Harcourt

A member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Golden Chioma, was Tuesday night abducted by unknown gunmen in Port Harcourt.

The lawmaker, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Judiciary, and represents Etche Constituency II, was said to have been kidnapped at about 8pm in Diobu area of the state capital.

As at the time of filing this report, the leadership of the Assembly was yet to comment on the incident.

A House of Assembly source told journalists, who were already invited for Wednesday's sitting, that it had been adjourned sine dine, as the lawmakers were not in the mood to sit.
