SA, speak out against killings in Gaza

It is time for all South Africans to stand together with the people of Palestine to decry Israeli attacks on Gaza, says Insaaf Harris.
Cape Town - While the clock ticks by, yet another explosion erupts in Palestine, injuring, maiming and killing innocent civilians.
It is time people, it is time for us as a South African nation, across all races, cultures and faiths to unite and make our voices heard.
We, in South Africa, had been subjected to apartheid, violence and hate, yet, we prospered through it all in what we today, call democracy. Today, we should stand together with our fellow people in Palestine who are subjected to worse atrocities, crimes and barbaric treatment.
We cannot idly sit by and turn a blind eye to the hostility and brutality of these horrendous attacks.
Hamas is Gaza’s only armed force, they are by far under-equipped with weapons. As per International law, the 4th Geneva Convention states, “A military occupied people have a duty to defend themselves”.
These are phenomenally brave men who risk their lives to defend their homeland and their right as human beings to exist. It is not about race or religion, it is about humanity.
I urgently plea that we all stand together as a South African nation for a free Palestine.
As Israel rains its great American bombs on Gaza, the victims are innocent civilians with no protection. How can we not feel your pain and suffering.
How can we continue to witness the suffering, brutality and mass holocaust of innocents. No matter what colour, race or religion we are, we are all children of Adam and created by one God. Why then the killing of hundreds of innocents.
We stand with you our brothers and sisters in Palestine and pray for your freedom.
In the words of Nelson Mandela: “We know too well that our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians.”
Israeli attacks on the besieged Gaza strip have resulted in the deaths of hundreds of innocent civilians, while thousands have been traumatised.
As we move towards the month of August and are reminded of the atrocities of Nazi Germany, surely we must ask the people of Israel has the term “lest we forget” lost its meaning?
I need to stress that it is US dollars that feed Israeli War Crimes. The US has given Israel the weapons of destruction, the very weapons responsible for this genocide. Israel refuses to sign the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and bars international inspections. It is blatantly clear to us why.
They preach against hate, yet, build a shrine and a memorial for a murderer who killed 29 Palestinians whilst praying in a mosque.
How can one rejoice in an act so violent.
It is time people, it is time South Africa, that we unite against the genocide happening in front of our very own eyes.
Let us stand together and make our voices heard.
FREE PALESTINE. VIVA GAZA!
