Durban - A man
charged with the murder of a 6-year-old girl in Pietermaritzburg last week,
wants to plead guilty.
Kwanele Ndlovu,
30, appeared briefly in the city’s magistrate’s court on Monday, where he told
magistrate Ntsoaki Ndawonde that he killed Yoliswa Ludidi, the granddaughter of
Zanele Ludidi,
the chairwoman of the province’s conservation and environmental
affairs portfolio committee.
The girl’s body
was found by the police dog unit near a river in the Smero Location at 8.30pm
on Tuesday last week. She was last seen alive being accompanied by a man her
aunt knew and trusted.
Yoliswa went to
visit her aunt and wanted to go to the toilet. The man, who was visiting,
accompanied her to nearby bush because there was no toilet at the house. In the
meantime, her aunt went to a shop.
When she returned,
other family members at the house asked her where Yoliswa was. She found out
from her own child that Yoliswa had left the home with the man. The community
then searched for her. The case was adjourned to next week.
