ISIL leave US footprints in Iraq: Larijani

Iran’s Majlis Speaker has slammed the US double standards toward the fight against terrorism, saying ISIL leave US footprints in Iraq.
“In responding to the world public opinion, US officials attach priority to the battle against
international terrorism, but they openly and practically support the ISIL [terrorist] group… the ISIL leave US footprints in Iraq,” said Ali Larijani on Thursday.
The top Iranian lawmaker also highlighted the gruesome crimes perpetrated at the hands of the ISIL terrorists against the people of Iraq and said the Takfiri group enjoys beheading Iraqi children and teenagers.
“If you are truly an advocate of the fight against terrorist groups, why do you not stop ISIL terrorists that massacre Muslims?” Larijani asked in reference to the United States and its allies.
The Iranian official added that Washington and its Arab allies in the region have been backing such terrorist groups in the Middle East in an attempt to pit Shia and Sunni Muslims against each other.
The ISIL militants have been wreaking havoc on Syria and Iraq.
In June, American news website WorldNetDaily (WND) quoted unnamed Jordanian officials as saying that US military instructors trained ISIL Takfiri militants at a secret base in Jordan in 2012.
WND further reported that, according to a source in contact with a high official in the Iraqi government, the United States had also been aware for two months that the ISIL group was training fighters in Turkey.
The ISIL terrorists have claimed the formation of a so-called Islamic caliphate or state.
